USU Women’s Soccer opens 2025 season after historic 2024 run

Utah State women’s soccer is back in action tonight, ready to kick off the 2025 season with hopes of riding the momentum from last year’s historic campaign.

The 2024 season was one for the record books, as the Aggies repeated as Mountain West Tournament champions and secured a second-straight NCAA Tournament berth. Their remarkable run ended with a program-record 18 wins and just one loss, finishing 18-1-5 overall. Along the way, USU climbed as high as No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll and hosted a tournament game for the first time in program history.

Expectations are high again this year. The Lady Aggies were picked by the league’s coaches to win the conference title, receiving 128 points and six first-place votes in the preseason poll – the first time they have been tabbed No. 1 since joining the Mountain West.

And their place in the ranking is well deserved, breaking nearly every major record in the program’s history, winning 18 games, recording 62 goals, 65 assists, 189 points, 202 shots on goal and 15 shutouts.

With momentum on their side, Utah State has bolstered its roster with 12 newcomers, including three transfers and eight freshmen, adding depth and talent to an already dangerous lineup.

The Aggies open their season on the road tonight against Washington State, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. MT.
